  Should a Christian celebrate Christmas?

  hello, i'm new here and have woken up to the real truth concerning the org.

  i'm sort of fading away at the moment.... i need help with something, i used to as a child celebrate christmas and have always had amazing memories of it (my husband hasn't as he was born into the org) but i gave it up when i learnt the "truth".

  my interest was only in pleasing god and still is.

  Birthdays - Jehovah made a massive thing of Noah's birthday. I mean MASSIVE. The exact day isn't mentioned but the turn point of Noah's age is important.

  (Genesis 7:6) . . .And Noah was six hundred years old when the deluge of waters occurred on the earth. . .

  (Genesis 7:11) . . .In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all the springs of the vast watery deep were broken open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

  (Genesis 8:13) . . .Now in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, it came about that the waters had drained from off the earth; . . .

  If to Our Father, even the very hairs of our head are all numbered, surely all the days of our life are carefully counted too. (Matthew 10:29-30)

  On the matter of Christmas being different to birthdays, Christmas counts nothing. No one says 'oh on this day Jesus turned 2022'.

  There's a Chinese saying 'point deer, say horse'. What it means is "deliberate misrepresentation for ulterior purposes".

  But what we have seen is is liars, point to liars and call them liars. You imagine the liar who spoke up first is not a liar.

  Watchtower pointed at all other Christian denominations and said 'liars'. Watchtower claimed to be publishing the Truth, ie the genuine teachings of Jesus Christ. But they weren't. Many put their trust in Watchtower and did not imagine they would be like the people they were calling out. But they were, so some, losing faith/trust in the Watchtower, lost their faith in Jesus/the Truth.

  Now apply that to the child abuse issue. Child abusers point to child abusers and call them child abusers. You imagine the child abuser who spoke up first is not a child abuser. But then you see, the accuser is as bad as the ones he/she is accusing. So you end up like Pontius Pilate saying, 'what is truth?' How is that attitude going to protect children? Or anyone for that matter. All Pilate could do was wash his hands.

  But the wisdom of Jesus Christ's words stand - it is by their ACTIONS not their words that you identify people.

  (Matthew 7:20) . . .Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize those [men]. . .

  Also (Matt 7:21-23) - get away from me you workers of lawlessnes.

  Thisismein1972 - even classrooms of children will game a teacher and the teacher does not know. A class is under tight control but a few know how each should respond to game the teacher. Maybe only one child knows how to do it and the others go along with it.

  Same with a parent managing a child - the parent strives to find techniques that the child responds to. The child is oblivious to parent's tactics. This can be a good or bad thing depending on the motive and the desired end. Psychotherapists do the same and will carry out experiments to assess the effectiveness of techniques.

  The road to hell is paved with good intentions - didn't we all go out on the ministry? With good intentions. Then finally we woke up and realised the GB had been gaming us all.

  It is a very powerful thing - you try to tell a fully-in publisher they are being lied to by the GB. They will not accept it. Maybe eventually they accept it when something hits them personally. Or perhaps it is only by the grace of God that people wake up to Watchtower's tactics. And as you say these things go on in the political arena too.

  The Watchtower is a publishing company. It is opposed both to the House of Israel and Christians. The fact that it poses as 'Jehovah's Witnesses' does not mean it has any right in God's eye to disfellowship Christians (as if the Christian is being cast off from God).

  They can however chuck you out of their club as a 'lapsed' club-member. Like being a 'lapsed' patreon of some YouTube channel.

  They may have procedures but I imagine they are more concerned about keeping the status quo and doing the least possible.

  Lloydevan - Elders don't even know the Bible. The key issue for me was that I was telling them (as per Dan 1:1) that the 3rd year of Jehoiakim's rulership was the 3rd year of Jehoiakim's rulership. One elder said to me, "the prophet Daniel is not a channel Jehovah is using today."

  Whoop dee doo. I just looked at him and he fell ashamed and mumbled himself away from his own stupid comment. In fairness to him, just before they scurried off to hold a judicial against me and throw me out, he shook my hand.

  A new type of shiraz

  well-known amongst friends and acquaintances for my love of a shiraz, ive been given something new to try for christmas.

  its a shiraz viognier, produced by the method of co-fermentation of red shiraz grapes mixed with white viognier grapes.

  they are mixed before the wine is made when the addition of white grapes at this stage is thought to preserve the brightness of the red pigments during fermentation, as well as altering the development of some of the flavour compounds.. a typical shiraz viognier wine will contain between two and seven percent of the white variety.

  A further note on the above video - her son has been disfellowshipped also. He was disfellowshipped after being on the phone to the elders for HOURS AND HOURS reasoning with them on the scriptures and urging them to behave in a Christian manner.

  So it looks like this to me - if you believe in God and love Jesus Christ and find fault with Watchtower and express it, you are out.

  But if you find fault with Watchtower, publish and fornicate - you stand a good chance of not being disfellowshipped.

  And they don't say WHY you are being disfellowshipped, so the IMPLICATION is fornication. Its really disgusting when you have to endure this rubbish.
